چکیده
Abstract Integrated geophysical mapping benefits from visualizing multi-source datasets including gravity and satellite altimetry data using 2D 3D techniques. Applying scripting cartographic approach by R language GMT supported traditional in QGIS is presented this paper with a case study of Iranian geomorphology special focus on Zagros Fold-and-Thrust Belt, unique landform the country affected complex geodynamic structure. Several modules ’tmap’ ’raster’ packages were shown to illustrate efficiency console-based scripts. Data sources included high-resolution raster grids GEBCO/SRTM, EGM-2008, SRTM DEM vector geologic layers USGS. The objective was visualize thematic maps Iran: topography, geology, satellite-derived anomalies, geoid undulations geomorphology. Various techniques applied plot topographic field gradients categorical variations geological structures relief along Belt. Elburz, Zagros, Kopet Dag Makran slopes, Dasht-e Kavir, Lut Great Salt Desert visualized 3D-and geomorphometric properties (slope, aspect, hillshade, elevations) modelled R. series 11 new made combination GIS for comparative geological-geophysical analysis. Crustal scale geometry of the Zagros fold–thrust belt, Iran
Balanced cross-sections across the Zagros fold–thrust belt in Iran are used to analyze the geometry of deformation within the sedimentary cover rocks, and to test the hypothesis of basement involved thrusting throughout the fold–thrust belt. Although the Zagros deformation front is a relatively rectilinear feature, the sinuous map-view morphology of the mountain front is a result of a 6 km stru...
متن کاملKinematics of the Dena Fault and Its Relation to Deep-Seated Transverse Faults in Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt, Iran
The NNW-trending Dena Fault, with 140 km length, cuts the major structures of Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt in Borujen region. The fault has divided the region in two zones, in which different structural, andmorphological features as well assedimentation and seismtectonic characteristics have developed. This study presents a new interpretation for the kinematics of Dena Fault based on field evidence....
متن کاملCollapse structures in Dowgonbadan region, Zagros fold- thrust belt
Allochthonous masses are common structures in Zagros fold-thrust belt. They are generally considered as collapse structures formed by the influence of gravity and in rock units with competency contrast. However, large allochthonous masses mapped in Dowgonbadan area in Dezful Embayment near the Mountain Front Fault (MFF) of Zagros show characteristics different from the belt common collapse stru...

متن کاملIn-situ stress regime in the Asmari reservoir of the Zeloi and Lali oil fields, northwest of the Dezful embayment in Zagros fold-thrust belt, Iran
This paper analyzes in-situ stress field in the Asmari formation with in the complex structures of the Zeloi and Lali oilfields located in the Dezful embayment, SW Iran. The orientation of the maximum horizontal stress, SHmax is determined on the basis of compressive borehole breakouts and drilling-induced tensile fractures observed in eight oil wells, in which we focus on well-log based method...
